TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University will soon be boasting a new 700 bed residence hall with a dining facility.
The State University System Board of Governors approved a resolution that outlines how FAMU will finance the project and participate in the U.S. Department of Education's Historically Black College and University Capital Financing Program.
FAMU staff say this will greatly improve student life in the future.
"That way we can have better living facilities for our students, we are going to be able to have more living learning communities," said Sameer Kapileshwari. "Right now we have one, and with this we are able to grow that even further."
He says the project is expected to break ground next spring.
