BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL)--Animal advocates in Bainbridge give a dog a fighting chance by flying it out of state for medical care.
The dog is believed to be a victim of dog fighting.
Ashley White with the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society says the wounds are mostly from bites and the dog may have been a bait dog or lost a fight.
Domino was dumped at Jones Country Meat in Climax and picked up on September 20 by animal control.
"The name Domino came to us because of the black and white coloring," said White. "It actually worked out great with how we really want people to come forward and report dog fighting and speak up. We deemed it the "domino effect." We want his injuries and his suffering to lead to something better so that more dogs don't have to be injured and suffer."
Saturday the dog was picked up by Pilots n Paws and flown to Charlotte to Noah's Ark Rescue, but Domino is now in emergency veterinary care.
We will keep you updated on Domino's recovery.
There is a reward of up to $5,000 for the arrest and successful prosecution of those responsible if you have information called the Decatur County Sheriff's Office at (229) 248-3044.
