TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist is postponing a controversial trip to Cuba.
Crist spoke out earlier this year, saying the US should scrap its embargo against Cuba. He also announced his plans to go on a fact-finding trip to the island.
But in a reversal on Monday, the Crist campaign said Crist will visit Cuba "at some point" after the election.
As a Republican, Crist supported the embargo against Cuba. But as a Democrat, Crist says he feels the embargo is counterproductive, and even helpful to Cuban dictator Raul Castro.
