ADEL, Ga. (WTXL) - Cook County Schools have been placed on lockdown as police search for a shooting suspect in the area.

The Adel Police Department says that they are actively searching for 33-year-old McKenzie Rockmore of Adel.

Earlier Thursday, officers responded to a shooting in Glendale Trailer Park on North Elm Street. Rockmore was identified as the shooter in that incident.

Rockmore was last seen running east from the scene and he is believed to be armed.

The Cook County School System has issued a lockdown of schools in the general area as a safety precaution. Notification to parents and others was sent out over the telephone.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Rockmore, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
