TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee is being recognized nation-wide as the 2018 Utility of the Future Today.
This comes as a result of how utilities here are engaging their community, forming unique partnerships, and recovering resources from wastewater.
City leaders says it's all because of the team they have working in underground utilities and in the public infrastructure department.
They express that this recognition will help the city to continue to be leaders in this department.
"We're staying on the cutting edge and making sure our citizens are receiving the absolute best in our public utilities," said Curtis Richardson, the Mayor Pro-Tempore.
Honorees will be recognized during an awards ceremony this October in New Orleans. Tallahassee is one out of 32 water utilities recognized nationwide.
