TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) - The Bradfordville Blues Club is back in action. Months after a tree fell through the local house of blues, the club held it's grand re-opening Saturday.
"We're up and running," said Bradfordville Blues Club owner Gary Anton. "We got live music, we got the fish frying again, the bonfire is burning we're ready to have some fun."
It's been a rough summer for Gary and other members of the Bradfordville Club. A couple months ago, a 250 year old oak tree smashed through the club forcing owners to shut the club down.
However, thanks to the efforts of the local community creating a Gofundme page and benefit concert, the Bradforville Blues club has finally found it's rhythm again.
"The Bradfordville Blues Club means so much to everybody, it means something different to every individual that was here," said Stone Cold Blues Band member Brett Wellman. "My wife and I got married here back in the December on the stage Gary the owner actually married us, so my wife called me immediately and said I don't care what you gotta do you gotta help fix it."
Repairs to the Bradfordville Blues Club cost over $20,000. Owners say thanks to the money raised by the community they were able to make repairs and make innovations to make sure the club is back and better than ever.
"We did some concessions to the 20th century by adding adding air conditioning and electricity and running water," said Anton.
The Bradfordville Blues Club also replaced their sound system and did their best to keep everything the same so it feels like the Bradfordville Blues Club never left.
