MILLER COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - As if the damage from Hurricane Michael wasn't enough, some residents in Miller County are encouraged to boil their water before drinking it.

Many residents in Miller County had prepared a hurricane kit with non-perishable foods and water. Unfortunately, the food and the water is starting to run out.

And now, those living within the Colquitt limits are asked to boil their water before drinking it, to make sure that what they're drinking is safe.

On Friday afternoon, pallets of water were delivered to the Board of Education building for Miller County residents to pick up.

Those who came out were grateful for the water they received.

"Hey, we're very thankful for it that they're giving us this water. We really do appreciate it. Every little bit helps," said Giordano Rogers, Miller County resident.

Multiple state and local agencies are out working to remove all the fallen trees. And of course, line crews are out trying to restore power, but it will be a long road to recovery.
