BAINBRIDGE, Ga. -- Bainbridge Public Safety is looking for a suspect accused of breaking into homes near South West Street.

Officials received a call reporting the invasion on Thursday. Around 1:40 p.m., the home owner startled two intruders, both black males, wearing black clothing and carrying backpacks.

Because the intruders were possibly armed, Bainbridge Public Safety put nearby Potter Street Elementary School on a Level 1 Lockdown. BPS officials began receiving information from witnesses in the area that the suspects were running south and possibly east across College Street in the Anderson Street area. At that time, officials also placed Elcan-King Elementary on a Level 1 Lockdown.

Officials searched the are for an hour and a half before they found evidence that the suspects had been in the area of Japonica St. That evidence led them to 901 Anderson Street, where they reportedly located one suspect, 17-year-old James Christopher Harrell, hiding in a building. They also recovered a majority of the stolen property at that location.

Upon further investigation, BPS discovered that two residences in the apartment complex on West St. had been broken into. Harrell is being charged with two counts of burglary.

Officials are still searching for 18-year-old Javaris Rogers, who is Harrell's suspected accomplice. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Major Robert Humphrey at 229-515-0973 or Captain Mark Esquivel at 229-515-0097.
