The company said it will use canola oil to come up with a more sustainable replacement for plastic. A new facility to help bring about this change is expected to bring thousands of jobs.

The plant is in the final steps of its expansion processes.

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black visited the plant Tuesday.

"We're pretty good in identifying where there is a problem, and it's undeniable that there's a problem with waste, there's a problem with landfills, with solid waste disposal/ It's always good that when you have a problem you have a solution. And that's the interesting thing here, we have an opportunity here for a solution," said Commissioner Black.
