TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Association of Florida Colleges is opening the doors to its new headquarters.

Officials with the organization tell WTXL, it's a big move and everyone is really thrilled about it. They have been in an older building downtown for 11 years.

The president of the Florida Association of Colleges says, they wanted a place that stood alone where they could host all their meetings and events, something the old facility did not accommodate. College presidents from the 28 public and community state colleges come to town regularly and now they have a space big enough for all their events.

The building has a conference center on the 2nd floor where college presidents plan to host their monthly council meetings.

A leadership conference started Thursday and will continue through Friday with almost all of the college chapter leaders in attendance, something the new Florida Association of Colleges building will allow a lot more of now that it is officially the new Tallahassee headquarters.
