TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has released information about the woman that damaged the Satanic display at the capitol on December 23, 2014.
According to FDLE, officers made contact with Susan Hemeryck, the woman admittedly responsible for damaging the display early on Tuesday. She told law enforcement that "she was sorry and had to take the Satanic display".
When Hemeryck began tampering with the display, one of two responding officers stopped her and started to place the display back in its original location. The other officer advised Hemryck not to take or damage the display because it was a violation of the law.
Hemryck told the officers that, "she could not stand for it anymore," and continued for the display, beginning to rip it apart before she was then stopped and escorted away from the display.
Hemeryck is currently under arrest for criminal mischief.
