Connie Clarke and Chris Smith from Killearn United Methodists Church joined ABC 27 to tell us about the upcoming Shamrock Scurry.

The Shamrock Scurry, one of Tallahassee's oldest races, will be held at Killearn United Methodist Church on March 7, 2020.

The course will begin on Shamrock and will feature a scenic route of residential areas and golf course.

This event, including a popular Pancake Breakfast afterward, is a fun, family-oriented 5K and 1 Mile community event raises over $20,000 annually to help feed and clothe families, provide beds for foster children, and build homes for the homeless.

The race started in 1981 at Killearn United Methodist Church. After several years, it was hosted by different organizations, then took a short hiatus. In 2010, the race was revived by KUMC with the goal of bringing together our community and raising money to help those in need.

All proceeds from the race go to local and international charities. Come join us in making great things happen in our community!
