(WTXL) — Kevin Cox from Holland & Knight law Firm joined us on WTXL Sunrise Wednesday morning to talk about the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance and Presentation of Glenn J. Winuk Humanitarian Service Award.

The Glenn J. Winuk Award is presented annually by the Tallahassee office of the law firm of Holland & Knight and in partnership with Leon County Government to honor the memory of a former partner, with the support and cooperation of the Winuk family.

The award is presented to honor acts of sacrificial service that Glenn Winuk exemplified in his life and in his death at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

The 2019 winner will be announced at a Day of Service and Remembrance ceremony held September 11, 2019, and also recognized on September 17, 2019 at the Leon County Commission meeting.

A $1,000 donation will be made by Holland & Knight to the charitable organization of the winner's choice. Care packages will be assembled by attendees at the 9/11 Day of Service ceremony for the 160th Military Police Battalion, currently deployed from Tallahassee.

There is no charge to attend the event. Anyone from the public is invited to attend.
