ATTAPULGUS, GA (WTXL) -- Two people were arrested and charged with numerous counts of animal cruelty, said the Decatur County Sheriff's Office.
According to investigators, they had received a video from a concerned citizen over the weekend showing what appeared to be a dog fighting operation.
Deputies said they executed a search warrant on a home on East Griffin Avenue in Attapulgus. Deputies reportedly found dogs that were tied to trees on very short chains, living in their own feces. The dogs also exhibited signs that they had been involved in dog fights, investigators said.
Deputies arrested Sadel Jackson and his uncle, Terry Jackson. Both were charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and booked into the Decatur County Jail on Tuesday.
The dogs were taken to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society.
