TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- FSU student Ramon Aleman is on a mission to end homelessness in our area.

That's why he founded Unhoused Humanity.

It's a crowdfunding source, connecting donors to homeless people or families.

Aleman started the group as a promise to himself to help the homeless, after hearing about his grandfather's past.

His group worked with homeless people who have a steady income; they just need some extra support when it comes to move in costs.

Unhoused Humanity put its first person into a home six months ago, and they're still there. Since then, the initiative has housed 24 people so far, and according to Aleman, and 100-percent have been able to stay in a home.

Earlier this month, Unhoused Humanity won an Awesome Tallahassee grant of $1,000 to help its cause.

Now, the group is calling on the community to continue its mission. Right now, Aleman is trying to raise money for a family of seven, including a baby and pregnant mother.
