ABC 27 Turkey Drive drop-off locations will be at Ponce De Leon Park downtown and at Bannerman Crossing in north Tallahassee, Thursday, November 12, all day until 6:30 p.m. All donations will benefit Second Harvest of the Big Bend in their mission to feed those fighting hunger in our community.
If you cannot make it to the drive-thru on Nov. 12, you can also donate online right now at fightinghunger.org/turkey or call 850-727-5207.
Join the ABC 27 team at the 7th annual Turkey Drive! Together with our partners, Peter Boulware Toyota, the Tallahassee Police Department and the Downtown Tallahassee Improvement Authority, we’ll be collecting turkeys and monetary donations to help our neighbors in need throughout the Big Bend region.
Last year’s drive raised more $25,000 and 850 turkeys. This year’s drive is primed to be the biggest yet, as a second drop-off location will be added for the first time.
Second Harvest of the Big Bend supplies more than 750,000 monthly meals to 135 partners in 11 Florida counties. The organization estimates that nearly one in five adults and children in the Big Bend is food insecure – meaning they do not know where their next meal will come from.
You can help your neighbors this year by swinging through one of our “drive-thrus” at Ponce De Leon Park or Bannerman Crossing before 6:30 p.m. on November 12 and bringing as many turkeys as you can possibly donate, or a cash donation. Hope to see you there!
