TALLAHASSEE, FL- In today's What's to Eat, we learned how to make barbecue ribs.
Pit master Kyle Landrum showed us Sonny's famous rib recipe in honor of Father's Day.
Cook time: approximately 6 hours
Pit temperature: 225°
Dry Rub:
Ingredients
o 1 tablespoon cumin
o 2 tablespoons paprika
o 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
o 1 tablespoon granulated onion
o 1 tablespoon chili powder
o 1 tablespoon brown sugar
o 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar
o 2 tablespoons kosher salt
o 2 teaspoons white pepper
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. After all ingredients are mixed well place rub in a dredge can.
Rib Wrap:
Ingredients
o 1/2 cup of brown sugar
o 1/8 cup of honey
o 1/2 cup of butter
o Aluminum Foil to wrap the ribs
Sweet Sauce:
Ingredients
o 14 ounces ketchup
o 1/4 cup water
o 1/4 cup white vinegar
o 2 teaspoons molasses
o 2 teaspoons mustard
o 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
o 1/4 cup chopped onions
o 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
o Dash of Frank's Red Hot
o Dash worcestershire sauce
o Pinch cayenne
o Pinch freshly ground black pepper
o 1 tsp hickory smoke
o 1 tsp canola oil
o Salt to taste
