(WTXL) — ABC 27 has you covered with all the local happenings from around South Georgia and across the Big Bend!

SATURDAY

JUNETEENTH OF THOMASVILLE

Juneteenth may be Sunday, but that's not stopping celebrations from kicking off a little early!

If you are in South Georgia, you can enjoy vendors, food trucks and so much more at their Juneteeth Celebration.

It's a free community-wide event in conjunction with the city of Thomasville Black History Month Parade.

That kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Douglass Complex on Forrest Street.

JUNETEENTH EMPOWERMENT DAY

Happening at Cascades Park, the Capital City Cultural Community Outreach is hosting their 2nd annual Empowerment Day.

There's going to be plenty of food trucks, live music and even a $1,500 scholarship given away.

It's all happening Saturday afternoon until 6 p.m. in Tallahassee.

GOLF EVENT

Also in the Capital City, it's beautiful weather to learn how to golf. That's located on 801 Tanner Drive.

So if you are ready "fore" some fun and engagement, head to the Jake Gaither Golf Course and Community Center.

Not only will you receive basic golf skills, but you will also be learning some new things from a mental health professional.

A light lunch will be included all at the community center from 9 a.m. to noon.

SUNDAY

JUNETEENTH TEA FOR TWO

Here's the tea this Juneteenth!

Mickee Faust is inviting you to celebrate with an array of teas, sweets and savories along with 2 films by black queer filmmakers.

And by sweets we are talking potato pie, southern pecan cake and so much more.

Both the team and the films are free, but there's limited seating.

So if you are interested, seating is limited.

You can get your tickets at the door...that's over on Railroad Square.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

And speaking of a holiday for 2!

Cap City Video Lounge wants you to check out their special screening for Father's Day.

You can watch the 1990s live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at 3:30 p.m.

It happens to be one of their favorite flicks about the bond between fathers and sons.

Masks are recommended and it's 5 dollars to watch.

FATHER'S DAY COMEDY SHOW

If you rather give your dad something to laugh about instead, head to the Moon Sunday night.

Lil' Man & Friends has a Father's Day Comedy Show that might be the perfect gift.

You can expect comedy performances from Comedian Lil' Man & Sunshine and music from Tallahassee's very own DJ Demp.

General admission is $20.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The show starts at 7 p.m., but if you want to purchase those tickets now you can find the link attached to this story on our website.
