It’s officially March, which means spring is just around the corner. But that’s not the only thing to get excited about. A new month also means that Applebee’s has a brand new $1 drink of the month!
While their $1 Neighborhood Drink of the Month is usually on theme with a holiday — as with their Vampire cocktail for Halloween or their pink drink for Valentine’s Day — the March drink of the month is surprisingly not St. Patrick’s Day-themed.
Instead, Applebee’s is giving spring a strong start with their Dollar L.I.T. drink, a Long Island Iced Tea!
Served in a 10-ounce mug, the Dollar L.I.T. is a blend of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec and sweet and sour, topped with cola. Yes, friends, those are five different spirits mixed together in one $1 cocktail.
“With so much excitement this month — basketball brackets, St. Patrick’s Day, spring break — we wanted to give our guests a drink that will help them celebrate any and all occasions,” Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s, said in a press release.
Price, participation and availability of the Neighborhood Drink of the Month may vary by location, so make sure your local Applebee’s is serving it before heading out for date night.
While the drink is $1 all day, every day for the entire month of March, if you want to get other discounts, make plans to head there during Happy Hour (which varies, depending upon your location), when you can also get half-priced appetizers and other discounted drinks.
And remember that though the drink only costs $1, it does include five different kinds of alcohol, so please drink responsibly.
If you want more than just appetizers to soak up all that alcohol, Applebee’s also has some new menu items you might want to check out, including their limited-time Irresist-A-Bowls.
The five new bowls are served over rice, potatoes or pasta and have toppings like chicken and shrimp. Starting at $7.99, they include a Crispy Orange Chicken Bowl, the Homestyle Chicken Bowl, the Chicken Bacon Mac & Cheese Bowl, the Southwest Lime-Grilled Chicken Bowl and the Tex-Mex Lime-Grilled Shrimp Bowl.
Are you excited for this month’s $1 drink?
