Homeowner discovers burglars in his living room, bedroom in Sarasota

SARASOTA CO., FL (WWSB) – The victim came home to find burglars in his living room and bedroom on Monday.

Sarasota Police Officers responded to a call around 10 a.m. They then headed to the scene of the residential burglary in the 900 block of Windsor Drive in Sarasota.

The victim told Officers he came home and saw a suspect in his living room. The suspect took off running when the victim arrived.

Then the victim said he heard more subjects in his bedroom and that’s when the victim called 911. As he called, he saw two more suspects fleeing.

Officers tracked down two of the suspects, Raekwon Bryant, 20, of Sarasota and Christopher Taylor, 18, of Sarasota.

They were located at the corner of 42nd Street and Rilma Avenue.

Bryant was found with several jewelry items that belonged to the victim and the victim’s roommate.

Both men were transported to the Sarasota County Jail.

Bryant was charged with Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer without violence (Misdemeanor).

Taylor was charged with Burglary to a dwelling, unoccupied (Felony), Possession of burglary tools (Felony), and Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer without violence (Misdemeanor).
