MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Cindy's effects on our local area will continue to lessen as the storm moves inland near the TX/LA border. Still, overall moisture content will be high enough to support some showers/storms as the day progresses. The weekend is likely to return to a more seasonable set-up. More below.

Thursday: With mostly cloudy skies early, temperatures are expected to start off in the lower to mid 70s. A few morning showers are possible for the early commute. For the afternoon, sunshine is expected to return; that should help warm us up to near 90°. Isolated showers/storms appear possible today (30% coverage), driven inland by a persistent south wind.

Beach and Boating information and your Tide Times are below:

Friday through Sunday: A typical Summer pattern is in store for Friday and the weekend, with partly cloudy skies each day and a south to southeast wind helping to pump in enough moisture for showers/storms in the afternoons with the sea breeze. Expect lows in the lower to mid 70s with highs in the lower 90s.

Monday: An approaching cold front is expected to stall over our region, helping to enhance cloud cover and moisture content. Expect morning lows in the lower to mid 70s, afternoon highs in the upper 80s, with scattered showers/storms likely becoming a bit numerous as the day progresses (50% coverage).

Tuesday and Wednesday: A bit of uncertainty lies with the forecast by this point due to model disagreement. Depending on where this stalled front moves, rain coverage will be affected. Either way, a June pattern with partly cloudy skies and a good helping of nearby moisture should help to form isolated convection. The forecast is for lows in the lower 70s, highs near 90°, and rain coverage at around 20-30%.
