MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- No significant change in the forecast expected as hot summer temperatures will be expected for highs with isolated to scattered storms throughout the work week. Expect morning lows in the low to mid 70s to start Monday, with afternoon highs jumping to the low to mid 90s inland. Along the coast, the ocean breeze will help keep communities like Apalachicola and St. Marks a tad bit cooler. Coastal highs are forecast to range in the upper 80s, near 90 degrees. Rain coverage will range around 30%, with higher chances for rain along the coast.

A cold front north of the region will stay north for the short term, promoting more warm, moist flow to work in from the Gulf of Mexico. This means the pattern of afternoon heat and thunderstorms will continue. Each day through midweek, expect afternoon highs to be above 90 degrees with rain coverage around 40%.  After midweek, a frontal system will likely increase the rain coverage higher (50% +), so be on the lookout for more thunderstorms by then.

Meteorologist Max Tsaparis will keep you updated on the summer heat and rain chances starting Monday at 5 a.m. on WTXL Sunrise.
