BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomasville and Brooks County are region foes for as long as anyone can remember and for the last 20 plus years, it's been in Double A Region 1.
This year, they're facing each other early, on Friday, as they kick off region play.
Thomasville at Brooks County, it's our Friday Night Football Game of the Week.
Thomasville scored 23 unanswered to get the win last year, and the next week, sealed up the region crown.
Both teams, with identical non-region records heading in to Friday's match-up, as they're both 4-2 on the season.
For Thomasville, head coach Zach Grage notes they have to be ready to face an aggressive team. Trojan head coach Maurice Freeman knows his secondary will face a strong pass game led by Bulldog QB Chad Mascoe.
Two good teams looking for a big win in a game you don't need motivation for.
"You shouldn't be coaching effort against Brooks, Fitzgerlad, Cairo, Central. Those are games they're ready to get up for and they know a bunch of those guys back and forth," said Grage.
"Border War. They're right across the road from us. We'd like them to win 14 games, That means you lost to Brooks County. They're right next door, and we need to be the better team out of the two, so it means everything to me," said Freeman.
Brooks County defeated Thomasville 27-11 Friday night.
