TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers have identified the 59-year-old woman who was killed in a head-on crash on Old Plank Road in Tallahassee.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Thursday.
They say a 2015 Chevy Silverado was traveling north on Old Plank Road while a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by 59-year-old Rita J. Hall of Monticello was traveling the opposite way.
Somehow, the Chevy truck crossed over the lanes and directly into the path of Hall's truck, crashing head-on.
After the initial impact, troopers say the Chevy Silverado began to spin counterclockwise and overturned before landing upright. Hall's car also overturned before coming to a rest on its right side.
Hall was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the Chevy Silverado was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
FHP was assisted by the Tallahassee Fire Department, Leon County EMS, Leon County Sheriff's Office, and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
