VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - A woman was arrested for lying to Valdosta police officers.
According to officers, Rachel Berry of Mayo, Fla., was arrested Thursday after telling officials she had been attacked and stabbed in the parking lot of a local business by a man who left the scene.
Additional officers and K-9 units were called in to search the area for the suspect.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and interviewed.
Detectives determined that the 25-year-old injured herself and lied doing so.
She was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
"Anytime a citizen provides false information to officers, they will be held accountable," said Lt. Adam Bembry.
