GAINSVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - White nationalist speaker Richard Spencer addressing a crowd at the University of Florida campus.

Spencer's speech coming as we are seeing more in the media about the so called Alt-Right Movement.

The controversial speaker has brought out hundreds of protesters.

Stephen Jiwanmall is live from the University of Florida,  where Spencer's speech took place.

Stephen, you've been there all day, what's the environment like?

People coming from all around the sunshine state are here and send a message that Nazis and white supremacists are not welcome. Several people from the big bend made the trip to Gainesville and hundreds of students here at UF were part of the protest, too.

The Anti-Defamation League says Spencer and the Alt-Right Movement have been using social media to put out their message, and there's a reason why Spencer wants to speak here.

The governor issued a State of Emergency for Alachua County, investing half a million dollars for security to make sure everyone gathered here is safe.
