TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is facing charges after investigators say he lied to get nearly $5,000 in Food Stamp Program benefits.
Henry Davis was booked into the Leon County Jail on Monday.
According to a complaint failed by a Florida Department of Financial Services investigator, the fraud happened between the March 25, 2015 and January 31, 2016.
In 2015, the document says Davis lied on his application to receive public assistance, reporting an adult member of his household as unemployed.
However, investigators discovered that the household member was employed at a local restaurant from 2015 to 2016.
As a result of Davis' false report, he received $4,877 in Food Stamp Program benefits from May 2015 through Jan. 2016 that he was not entitled.
Investigators issued a warrant for Davis' arrest back in October 2016.
Davis was taken into custody on Monday and later bonded out of the Leon County Jail. He is being charged with one count of public assistance fraud.
