LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - While teen activism is on the rise, the number of young people in our area actually registering to vote is going down.

Getting young people registered and to the polls is one of the main goals of the 'Never Again' movement started by Marjory Stoneman students.

However, in the capital city, all the rallies and walk-outs have had the opposite effect.

According to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections office, the number of registers voters in the youngest age group has gone down by more than 600 since February.

This isn't a new trend, from January-December of 2017, the number of registered voters between the ages of 18-25 went down by nearly 4,500.
