Two People Bit by Rabid Cat in Thomas County

THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WTXL) - Two people were bit by a rabid cat according to the Thomas County Health Department.

According to Jay Ridenhowser from the Health Department, the cat came out of the woods and bit two people.

The individuals went to the hospital where they received post-exposure vaccines. Animal control was able to trap the cat where is tested positive for rabies.

Thomas County says if you see an animal acting uncharacteristically to report it to the Thomas County Animal Control.
