SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - A tractor trailer catches fire while traveling north on SR 93 Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Semi was in the right lane when the driver began to smell smoke and pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway. Once the driver exited the vehicle the semi caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames. FHP say, trailer was empty.
Suwannee County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and put the fire out.
SR 93 northbound was closed for approximately a hour due to debris from the fire.
