TPD investigating 3 weekend shootings in 24 hours

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department has responded to three shootings this weekend in the span of 24 hours.

1) Most recently, TPD is currently investigating a shooting that happened on the 200 block of Juniper Drive at approximately 3:02 a.m. Sunday. Two victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

2) A shooting late Saturday night critically wounded one person. Police say it happened around 11:08 p.m. on the 2600 block of Saxon Street, though officers were flagged down on the 2500 block of South Monroe Street, where they found the victim.

3) A third shooting over the weekend happened around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning, leaving another person in critical condition. Police are investigating a shooting that happened near the area of Copeland and Georgia streets.

In addition to Friday's two shootings -- including a fatal one -- there have now been a total of five (5) in the past three days.

All of the shootings are being investigated by TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. Investigators are asking anyone with information about any case to call (850) 891-4200 or provide an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
