TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An investigation is underway right now in Tallahassee after police say a pregnant woman was shot.
Tallahassee police received a call around 12:45 a.m. Thursday. TPD says the shooting happened along Wailes Street, near FAMU's campus.
But before they arrived, police say the pregnant woman flagged them down for help on LaFayette Street after she'd been shot.
"The victim was taken to a local hospital. The baby was delivered, and both are expected to survive," said TPD Officer Rachelle Denmark.
As of now, no suspects are in custody and an investigation is on-going.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Police said that a baby and mother are in stable condition and expected to survive after a shooting near the 700 block of Wailes Street.
The shooting occurred about 12:44 a.m. Thursday, TPD said in a news release.
Before officer’s arrival, the pregnant victim left the scene and flagged down an officer near the 1000 block of Lafayette Street.
The victim was later transported to a local hospital for surgery and the baby was delivered.
