TPD arrests man in fatal shooting on Bicycle Road, victim identified

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested a man in connection to the Saturday night shooting on Bicycle Road that killed a 32-year-old man. 

TPD arrested Jeterius Williams, 26, on Sunday for the murder of Harold Smith, III, 32. 

Williams is being charged with second-degree murder. 

He is currently being held at the Leon County Detention Facility.


 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a Saturday night shooting on Bicycle Road that left one person dead.

Police say it happened near the 3100 block of Bicycle Road. At approximately 11:40 pm., officers were notified of the shooting and responded to the area.

Arriving officers and emergency personnel discovered that one person was suffering from a gunshot wound. That person later passed away from their injuries.

TPD has not identified the victim yet. This is the 6th shooting in September. A break down of all the shootings this month is below:

The case has been assigned to Investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit.  At this time they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene.
