TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection to two deaths discovered yesterday.
Deputies worked through the night and took 19-year-old Malik Wade into custody.
It's still active, so, deputies aren't sharing too many details. But they were out here this morning, collecting more evidence in this case.
Tuesday, deputies were responding to a report of someone who had died. When they got here, they found Rosario Sanchez and Paula Portillo dead inside the home.
This doesn't appear to be a random incident. The sheriff's office says the suspect had some sort of relationship with the victims.
"The investigation has made some connections that I'm not at liberty to get into at this point, but there is a connection," said Lt. Grady Jordan with the Leon County Sheriff's Office. "We're not worried about additional suspects down the road as it relates to individuals that committed the homicide. There very well could be other people arrested."
Comments on Malik Wade's Facebook page that have now been deleted claim he killed the mother and grandmother of his daughter.
We tried talking to residents here but they declined.
Wade is facing the following charges:
- 2 counts of homicide-willful kill murder premeditated
- 1 Count of Kidanapping
- 1 count of child neglect
