TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum announced a supply drive for the disaster victims in St. Maarten.
The City of Tallahassee, in partnership with the Tallahassee-St. Maarten Foundation, will be collecting supplies through October 10.
“While Tallahassee was very well-prepared and incredibly lucky during Hurricane Irma, our sister city of St. Maarten was not as lucky. They have called on us for help, and we will answer the call,” said Mayor Gillum. “There is an overwhelming need on the island, and today we will open over 20 donation sites to collect items to send to those who have been impacted by this disaster.”

Most residents on the island are in need of necessities as over 85% of homes have been destroyed and their power and water systems have been significantly damaged.
The city provided an emergency supplies list for those who wish to help:
