TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - When you see a broken traffic light, police stress that you need to treat it as a 4-way stop.
When you don't, accidents happen.
The Tallahassee Police Department posted a picture on Twitter of a fender bender Thursday afternoon:
This what happens when drivers don’t treat intersections with inoperable traffic lights as a 4 way stop. STOP AT EVERY INTERSECTION WITH NO LIGHT & TREAT IT AS A 4 WAY STOP. #MichaelTLH pic.twitter.com/w7pZsYk5WH

TPD also posted a public safety announcement asking drivers not to move or go around barricades:
Barricades are put in areas deemed a hazard to keep you away from it. Please don't move them. We put them there for your safety. Moving them jeopardizes your safety & everyone else who doesn't know the area is dangerous because the barricade has been moved. #MichaelTLH #recovery pic.twitter.com/AppQn15Mii

Police says they are helping utility workers at intersections all over town. They are asking that everyone stay of the roads while crews work to clear them for safe travel.
TPD officers are assisting utility workers at intersections all over town. We are asking everyone to stay off the roads while we are clearing them and making them safe for travel. Excess traffic hinders recovery efforts. Your safety is our priority. #MichaelTLH #Recovery pic.twitter.com/KAereJs0Ev
