TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Police have arrested a man accused of stealing four flatscreens and a generator from a Tallahassee apartment complex during Hurricane Irma.

Officers say Michael Lee Sinclair Jr. stole the items from the Osceola Apartments on Chapel Drive.

According to a probable cause document, Sinclair Jr. made several trips in and out of the complex's lounge between Sept. 11 and Sept. 15.

Officers say that on seven different incidents, Sinclair Jr. was caught on surveillance footage forcefully removing the televisions from the wall. They say each time Sinclair Jr. came in he'd take one television and return about an hour later to get another.

The report say the total value of the items stolen came up to $3,500.

On Sept. 18, investigators positively identified the suspect as Sinclair Jr. and issued a warrant for his arrest.

He was taken into custody over the weekend. Sinclair Jr. was charged with seven counts of burglary during a state of emergency and seven counts of petit theft.

Authorities say he faces elevated burglary charges due to Florida being under a state of emergency during the thefts. Sinclair Jr. remains in the Leon County Jail.
