DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Troopers said the daughter of a Tallahassee firefighter was killed in a Decatur County accident after her car ran off the road and rolled over near a creek.
The Georgia State Patrol said that 20-year-old Shelby Allen, daughter of Jimmy "Cuz" Allen, was driving east on Lake Douglas Road on Saturday around midnight when her car began to veer to the the right shoulder of the road.
They said that she over-corrected her steering, causing her to travel across both lanes of travel on to the opposite shoulder.
After traveling to the other side of the road, the car began rotating clockwise, causing the car to overturn. The car came to a final rest upside down.
Troopers said Allen was found dead outside the car, lying face-up in the creek.
A funeral service for Allen is set to happen on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel on Mahan Drive, preceded by a visitation at noon.
The burial will be at the Tallahassee Memory Gardens with a reception to follow at Southwind Plantation.
