SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A person has been hospitalized in serious condition after a crash involving two semis on I-10.

Around 9:45 a.m. the Suwannee County Fire Rescue says they were dispatched to I-10 at mile marker 289 for an accident involving two semis.

When they arrived, they found one semi overturned on its roof and one other semi with heavy damage to the back of it.

One person in the overturned semi sustained serious injuries and was transported to UF Health by Airlife 7 as a trauma alert.

SCFR says I-10 was shut down for Airlife 7 to land for a brief time, and traffic remained congested while emergency crews were on scene.

The person from the other semi was not transported to the hospital.

They say the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident and is currently reporting that all lanes open.
