VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A South Georgia organization dedicated to cracking down on crime celebrated the opening of its second location.

Citizens Against Violence cut the ribbon for their new youth center Friday.

It's called the Venture Club. It already has 150 young people signed up.

The program focuses on moral guidance, Christian principles, and giving children a positive outlook on their community.

"The program is working. This second location is a blessing, because the ventures club helps give the moral guidance that our children need, and the community is 100 percent behind us," said Reverend J.D. Martin, Founder of Citizens Against Violence.

The new location is located on East Jane Street in Valdosta.

The original site will now be specifically for the Soul Patrol, teams that walk the neighborhoods to help improve safety.
