MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is conducting a death investigation in Madison County.
Road maintenance workers found a woman's body on the shoulder of US Highway 19 about 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016.
According to FHP, the body appeared to have been there for at least two weeks, and they believe the victim was a female.
They say no other information is known right now, but they do say debris and tire marks found near the body suggest the person may have been involved in a fatal accident.
