Police Identify Body Found Near Madison Railroad Tracks

MADISON, FL (WTXL) - Police have identified the body found Wednesday morning by the railroad tracks in Madison.

According to the Madison Police Department, the body of Madison resident Jeremy Harris was discovered around 3:30 a.m.

A conductor on a CSX train passing through the Madison train station noticed the body by the tracks and called police.

Madison police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) spent the morning processing the scene near E.R. Scott Street and Valentine Avenue.

The tracks and intersection were reopened about seven hours after the incident, which Madison police are calling "an undetermined death."

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
