MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - A woman has been arrested this weekend after arriving drunk to a presentation hosted by Mother's Against Drunk Driving.

The Moultrie Police Department arrested 54-year-old Lisa Jefferies on charges of disorderly conduct after she appeared at a court mandated presentation hosted by the South Georgia chapter of MADD with the smell of alcohol on her breath. Jefferies was given a breathalyzer test, which she failed to pass.

Members of MADD host these presentations to present victim's stories and discuss the impact of drunk driving with people who have DUI's on record.

Gary Robinson, Community Action Site Leader for the South Georgia chapter of MADD, says advocates are not asking people to stop drinking, but simply to stop drinking and driving. Robinson tells WTXL incidents like this happen all the time and he calls Jefferies' actions "plain disrespectful."
