THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WTXL) - A man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for multiple charges including child molestation.
According to Investigator Tim Watkins with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, Rico Walker plead guilty on Thursday to "a sex offense". In total, Walker was given a 30 year sentence, though half of that time will be spent in prison.
Deputies said that Walker admitted to multiple sexual encounters with a victim. They said that at the time of the offense, the victim was under the age of 16. They also said that the molestation was on-going.
Back in 2015, Walker was facing charges of child molestation and aggravated sodomy and was arrested May 21st of last year.
After Walker's guilty plea, the case did not go to trial. The Sheriff's Office said that they were happy the district attorney's office was able to bring the case to an end.
