TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A man is arrested in Tallahassee for Human Trafficking and living off the earnings of a prostitute.

Anthony Cappuccio was arrested by officers with the Tallahassee Police Department on Tuesday.

Police were called to the intersection of W. Tennessee St. and Bronough St. after being called about a disturbance between a 22 year-old female and 26 year-old Cappuccio.

While officers were talking with the woman, she told them she was being forced into prostitution by Cappuccio.

Police say in an interview with the victim, she told them that she had met Cappuccio after fleeing a violent pimp while they were in New York. She also told police that Cappuccio forced her into prostitution 5 years ago and has taken any money earned from her encounters since then.

A search was done of Cappuccio's phone by police where ads were found on a website with photos of the victim as well as text messages to another prostitute.

Cappuccio told police he had never taken money from the victim and did not post an advertisements for her services. He also denied having the text messages from another prostitute on his phone prior to the search.

According to officers, Cappuccio and the victim came to Tallahassee from New York because Cappuccio's mother lives here and there was an open case in New York for Permitting Prostitution.

Police also found a text message in Cappuccio's phone saying, "...he was going to flee to Florida to avoid the charge adding 'they' would never find him."
