TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after deputies caught him trying to steal nearly $5,000 worth of jeans from Dillard's.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office said they arrested Cameron Eustace, 45, for multiple felony charges on Sunday.
They say that a deputy was notified by the Dillard's loss prevention department that Eustace had left the store without paying for numerous pairs of jeans.
In all, they say he tried to steal 28 pairs of jeans, the value of them equaling $4,560.
Eventually, Governor's Square Mall security caught Eustace trying to get into his car to leave the area. After trying to run away from police, Eustace was stopped and arrested.
On the ride to the jail, deputies say he became agitated and started kicking the passenger side door. They say he began to have a medical episode, so Eustace was transported to a hospital before being brought to the Leon County Jail.
He was charged with grand theft, resident officer arrest without violence, providing false name to law enforcement officer, and criminal mischief.
LCSO says Eustace is a suspect in several other criminal investigations.
