TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting an intellectually disabled victim.

Darrius Thomas, 32, was arrested for lewd or lascivious battery on a disabled adult.

According to probable cause documents, Thomas forced himself on the victim after offering to give the victim a ride on Feb. 3.

The victim told investigators that once he got into the car, Thomas, who was known to the victim by the nickname JT, asked the victim if he was "interested in making some money."

Believing that Thomas was asking to pay him for sexual favors, the victim said he wanted a ride home but said he wasn't interested in any sexual contact.

Documents say Thomas agreed and drove the victim to his apartment complex. However, after arriving, Thomas sexually assaulted the victim.

After getting away from Thomas and going inside the apartment, the victim called the police.

Documents say the victim agreed to let police collect DNA evidence for analysis. Investigators also note that the victim has both physical and intellectual disabilities.

When investigators tried to get into contact with Thomas the next day, he refused to meet with them. As a result, a warrant was issued for Thomas' arrest on March 8.

He was taken into custody on Friday.
