TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The driver accused of causing a crash that killed a Tallahassee mother and two young kids has been sentenced to prison.
Christopher Generoso, 22, was sentenced Tuesday to 22 years in prison, followed by 10 years probation.
The crash happened the night of March 17, 2012 at the intersection of Tennessee Street and North Monroe Street.
Investigators with the Tallahassee Police Department say Generoso was high on synthetic marijuana when he slammed at a high rate of speed into the back of a Jeep.
Three people in the Jeep, Shakeila Vickers, 33, her 10-year-old son Vincent Vickers, and his friend, 11-year-old Tyler Biggins, were all killed. The driver of the Jeep, Vince Vickers, 40, survived, but was seriously injured.
In the Probable Cause report, investigators say Generoso said "he had smoked "spice" just prior to driving the vehicle" and described how it "impairs his physical abilities." The report says Generoso's statements about having "Spice" synthetic marijuana in his system was confirmed with toxicology tests.
Generoso will be transferred to the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections where they will determine which facility he will serve his prison term.
