WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after an ambulance crashed into a tree in Wakulla County while transporting a patient.
Troopers say around 5 a.m. Friday morning, a Weems Hospital ambulance crashed into a tree off U.S. 319 near Shawn Whaley Road.
FHP says the driver of the ambulance suffered a medical emergency and drove off the road and into a tree. The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash.
Three people, including the patient, the driver and a second paramedic, were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Their conditon is unknown at this time.
FHP is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
