LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County officials are using money obtained from a state grant to protect voting elections in the upcoming elections.
The $19.2 million grant from the federal government was allocated to all 67 counties.
Leon County Election officials says the money can help them ensure security.
"Your vote is safe," said Mark Earley, the Leon County Supervisor of Elections, "We go to great lengths to make sure that's the case and we really appreciate this funding so that we can make sure that every effort that we can possibly come up with and what others can advise us can actually be put into place."
The amount of money each county got was decided based on a formula that included population and funding requests.
